Big Sky Lash Co. is the proud sister company of Päsh Lashes and Training, both founded by Melissa Hoover. Melissa began her journey in the lash industry 17 years ago in Seattle, originally launching under the name Infinity Lashes and Skin Care. After relocating to Montana 13 years ago, she rebranded—and Päsh was born.

Melissa is more than just a business owner—she’s a dedicated wife, mother to three amazing boys, and stepmother to three more. Her family is her purpose and motivation. She graduated from Paroba Beauty School in Everett, WA, in 2008, where she first discovered her passion for eyelash extensions. Her original goal was to master the art of lashing and become an educator—but that dream quickly evolved into a thriving business and national training program.

Knowing she would eventually move to Montana to be closer to her boys’ father, Melissa poured countless hours into perfecting her technique and teaching skills. Just a year after graduating, she became the lash educator at Paroba, where she trained over 100 students in classic lash application.

In August 2011, Melissa, her husband, and their children made the move to Helena, MT. Surprisingly, it was in this small town that her business began to thrive. Today, she and her husband travel the Northwest, educating lash professionals and providing products and support to artists nationwide.

Melissa has spent years refining her craft—particularly her Volume Technique. In December 2016, she developed a simplified method that not only makes the process easier, but dramatically improves success rates. Before this breakthrough, only about 30% of her students were successfully lashing; since then, that number has soared to 85%. This technique is now a cornerstone of every class she teaches.

In 2018, Melissa took her innovation a step further, creating the Exclusive Technique—a method designed for longer retention. When COVID-19 hit in 2020, nearly costing her business, she implemented this technique into her own practice. It played a key role in rebuilding Päsh Lashes from the ground up.

Today, our training programs include Melissa’s Exclusive Volume Technique, the Päsh Volume Technique, and her Volume Speed Lashing Method.

Melissa’s mission is simple: to provide accessible, high-quality lash education that sets students up for lasting success. With eyelash extensions still gaining traction in the U.S., poor training and application are unfortunately common—often leading to dissatisfied clients and a tarnished reputation for the industry. Melissa is determined to change that narrative by expanding her training nationwide and setting a new standard in lash artistry.
